Formed in the off-campus music scene in the shadows of The Ohio State University, West Exit forged a new sound out of their many influences. Bluegrass, Southern Rock, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock and Alternative/Progressive Rock combined into a unique and soulful American rock sound.
Soon after forming in 1988 West Exit released their first project, "Rising Stream". The 5 song EP soon got air-play in major Ohio markets and became a primary vehicle that launched West Exit onto major stages in the midwest, east coast and throughout the south.
Between 1989 and 1994 West Exit toured and performed with other artists including Meatloaf, The Romantics, Donnie Iris, Members of Molly Hatchet, Saraya, Danger Danger, George Jones, and Stuart Hamm.
In 1993 the band released "Monday Comes", a full length CD recorded at Sisapa Studios, Metropolitan Studios, and the Recording Workshop, and mastered at Eleven-Eleven Studios in Nashville. The title cut soon earned airplay and label interest, leading to another 18 months of touring before West Exit disbanded at the end of '94.
In 2005 the band re-united to perform a limited number of engagements with new member - Michael Minton on Piano and Keys. After a few successful shows, including a return to West Exit's long-time home stage - the fabled Alrosa Villa - the band agreed to re-unite to write material for a new CD and to tour.
